Red Block is a furniture, lighting, and product design practice that focuses on well-made, unique, quality and smart design.
In the highly wasteful and very tasteless fast-furniture era of today, Martin and Priscilla strive to create a distinction to that with endorsing slow living and encouraging people to enjoy the objects that surround their homes and loved ones, while supporting local makers and designers.
Red Block started off in Sydney in 2015, founded by Martin Tauts and Priscilla Tan who met while undertaking their studies in Industrial Design.
They moved up to Newcastle, NSW in 2016 and soon joined the renowned city revitalising initiative, Renew Newcastle, and has since been a part of the Newcastle creative scene, taking part in various collaborative spaces and events.
In the past 4 years, Red Block has expanded their lighting and furniture range and now provide fit-out design and building services, as well as various fabrication services that range from the traditional to the digital.
Red Block is proud to keep all its manufacturing local within Australia with materials ethically sourced.
